Blackshirts A-Wake
The Blackshirts are for real. It really helps when a defense is able to score three touchdowns in a game. It would be nice if Nebraska had an offense to go along with their much improved defense, but the defense may give them time to improve. The effort of the defense reminded me a lot of the 03 defense that forced 47 turnovers. The offense did look good for one drive in the second half, and I thought that maybe they were turning the corner, but after that drive, they returned to their normal pathetic state. I’ll take the two wins so far, but eventually the offense is going to have to outscore the defense.

Ok - I normally just read these things and keep my comments to myself, but this one I could not resist. As you know, I have been (and still am) a fan of two football teams that are either fantastically great or horribly bad: the Oklahoma Sooners and Minnesota Vikings. Trust me when I say that having a good defense, especially one that can score, can save a season. The Husker offense has pretty much sucked for several years now - if the defense can give you a winning season - be happy! The Blackshirts could dominate the Big 12 North - and after watching Texas on Saturday, they would give most of the South a pretty good scare - - at least the way they are all playing so far this year
But then again - - it is still just the second week and there are a lot of games between now and Oct 29…
